Nice app!

Thank you for this amazing app! Give you 5 stars for it! Please, dont stop, make it better, faster, stronger ;)

Great idea, poor design

The idea is excellent: match language speakers/learners on a map and chat with them. There are too many bugs and design flaws, right now. With even some minor improvements this could be a very useful app.

Geniale

Very nice app! Please update the UI

Pop up auto play ads

Didnt even use the app because as soon as I launched it there was a full screen pop up video ad that auto played with sound. Uninstalled. There are several free apps that dont bombard with ads you before you even get to see the app.

Disgusting

Actually this is not for Good. No many language is here

Use a different app

This app is difficult to use and it does not compare to its competitors.

Functions as described but could be better

This app does the basics of what its supposed to do as advertised, it lets you find people who are learning a language so you can help each other through text in real time and it is free unless you want to pay to remove the ads, which are not intrusive or spam ads (the ads I see in Sydney Australia are ads for university courses). You have to sign up and select the language you are a native of, and the language you are learning. You can select multiple languages. I also tried HelloTalk, which the free version will not allow you to pick more than one language for each. There are many parts that are not so good, but not bad. While a little slow when message sending, the delay is only about a second. There is no option for picture sending or voice messages so you cannot practise pronunciation. The interface pretty colourful and basic but there is a few functions HelloTalk does not have which I will talk about later. Among its functions are an in-text translator and dictionary that you can use to search a message while chatting, a chat room function that lets you setup a new chat room or join an existing one, and search for people by name, and native or learning language. You cannot do either in HelloTalks free version. In the free HelloTalk, you can only change the age range and nationality, the learning and native language in the search feature is set to whatever you chose and you cannot search any language you want, unless you upgrade. HelloTalk is strictly moderated which is fantastic because in LextTalk, it is not moderated so the vast majority of rooms in the chat room are crazy peoplewho set up a "gay group" a "horny beach" and even a "give me your phone number " and a "love" group. Even the ones dedicated to language have the people end up just chatting in English. One user has decided to post religious messages in every single chat room. Religion, politics and dating are not allowed in HelloTalk which is fantastic, this filters out the people and leaves only the people who are truly here for language learning. The good part is that there is a map function that lets you find people based on where they are located, which is useful if I want to find a German speaker near me due to time zone differences. So far most of the people I have talked to are just here for chatting but if you look at peoples profiles, they are here to learn a language. Im giving it 3 stars because it does what it says it does, and the map idea is great but it is not moderated and the interface isnt very good but its usable. I do not get spammed, but the chat rooms are disappointing. Unlike whatsapp, you can log out of this app.

Rated it 4 stars because dont know much about it yet

Pretty good. Doesnt cost anything, no glitches yet. The people are nice and you get active people. I would highly recommend it!

Doesnt even show the correct flags

Why on earth would it show a North Korean flag instead of a South Korean one. And for French, its showing a Canadian flag?!?! Come on developers. You can do better than that! And I dont appreciate the accuracy of the location system. This is just a stalkers nightmare waiting to happen.

Wish it were more popular!

Im always looking for fun ways to practice my German, so this seemed like such a cool way to connect to others. But there doesnt seem to be much activity going on, so its hard to sustain a conversation if you only write one sentence per week or so. Ill hang around hoping this catches on, though! Chat with me in German!

Noticed you guys just updated this...

There is a bug with text input. If you tap the small globe on your iPhone keyboard to change input languages, a white screen scrolls up, obstructing your view and making it impossible to see, edit, or even send your text. The only solution is to be to in the input mode you want, *before* you go to open up a keyboard in a chat window.

Great people, the app itself is a little buggy

This app opens you up to a friendly, active community striving to learn language. Ive already met allot of great people, however it could use some housecleaning. There are allot of bugs pertaining to the placement of things eg if you leave the app while writing a chat message and come back the chat window will be to low. A few times Ive also encountered a "LextTalk server error" eg I have yet to be able to sign in my LextTalk account on my phone, every time I try that error comes up in a little bubble, I tap ok and then nothing happens. Some features that would that would be awesome: The ability to select more than one "active language" as Im learning two languages, also if you know multiple languages I would hope youre staying active with all of them. Oh ya, that reminds me, a category for not native, but proficient might be nice. Theres allot more that I will add in here as time goes on, but despite the bugs, this is a great portal for connecting with language lovers and Ill be using it at least until I find something better. Love and Light! Joe*

Awesome :)

Thanks for build this app really is a good tool for learn someone language thank you

Network Error: Could not process the request

I used to love this app, now the stupid network error notifications make it impossible to use! Its ridiculous! Fix and ill give 4-5 stars

Impeccable

Ive only been using it for a while, so I havent seen any of the bugs everyones mentioning; its GREAT, and the translator is BRILLIANT.

Block

I would give it 5 stars but Im not this need a block button, I had some guy just send me rude messages. Not using this app again

Programming team, please read

Ive used many language learning apps but this has been by far the best and the least tedious method of learning Spanish. Interacting with others comfortably allows me to practice what I already know and also learn common and useful expressions that are helpful in developing practical conversational abilities. The reason I stress how impressed I am with this app, and the reason I am writing a review/comment, something Ive never been inspired to do prior, is because I wish to have my constructional criticism taken seriously. The following are suggestions of how you could possibly perfect this app in future updates. Meeting people to talk to is easy, but communicating over a period of time isnt. If there were a way to organize a friends list with customized categories one could keep track of who is responsive and not have to see the messages you sent without getting a response. In group chats, I wish I could click an icon, similar to the translator, that would connect me to a one on one chat with somebody Ive just met. On a similar note, I had trouble with the search tool, thus I give the vague suggestion of "more user friendly." Learning aids such as a phrase book might be a nice feature but isnt needed. If you add face to face talk I would pay up to ten dollars for this. If you make speaking directly (vocally) possible I would definitely pay five maybe up to ten. Let me know somehow if you found this helpful/ saw it at all so I know whether or not Ive just wasted a decent amount of time or if this is something I might again do.

Good!!

It is a great app!!! But the only thing they need to fix is the chat, it is not very fast....

Awesome App

Its absolutely a useful app! It makes language exchange more convenient n hope the developer can better improve the app and it sure will become even more popular !

Good!
